Jack has worked in the wine industry for over 16 years and he teaches at Northern Wine School. His work and passion for wine has led him to visit over 150 vineyards all over the world. He has worked at various wineries on everything from picking to bottling.

When he’s not improving his wine product knowledge at home, he can be found exploring the food and drink scene on his doorstep in the centre of Manchester. Jack is an AirBnB super host so he is well versed in introducing visitors to the best of our city.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who? What? Why? When? Where? Wine? If you can’t find your question below feel free to contact us, and we’ll be happy to help.

Who is Manchester Wine Tours for?

Manchester Wine Tours are for anyone who likes wine whether you’re a passionate enthusiast or someone who just likes a glass or two. They’re not for kids though, you must be 18+ to ride.

How much wine do we get?

You will taste around six small glasses of really good wine equating to roughly 2/3 of a bottle per person by the end of the tour.

What if I want more wine?

Many of our venues offer wine you can buy to take home. You are also welcome to stay at the last venue and buy more wine to drink there.

Is this like a food tour?

This is not a food tour, there are already great ones in Manchester. But we don’t like to drink wine on its own so there is a small but elite snack at every venue. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

Can I bring my dog?

Only if it’s a registered guide dog as some venues are not dog friendly.

I run a wine bar/shop/restaurant, can I join in?

We have hand selected our favourite places for wine in Manchester but my list is still growing. If you run a city centre wine-focused bar, shop or restaurant and want us to consider calling at your place, drop us an email.

What if the date I want isn’t available?

Our tours sell out fast so you need to book ahead. We can also arrange tours on other afternoons as long as a minimum of six people want to book. Get in touch to discuss alternative dates.

What kind of places will we stop at?

Manchester Wine Tours stop at four of the best places for wine in Manchester to taste around six different premium wines. Venues and wines vary from tour to tour so you can come back again and have a different wine tasting experience. We are experts in the Manchester hospitality scene and have relationships with the very best places. Some more casual, some a bit fancy. But no need to dress up. Wear comfortable walking shoes as this is a walking tour.

How long is the tour and how much walking will there be?

The tour lasts around 3-4 hours. We walk between venues and aim for walks no longer than 20 minutes. The pace is steady but we won’t leave you behind if you walk a little slower.

Can I get a refund if I can’t come?

We pre-book all of our venues, wines and snacks and our margins are tight to give you the best possible deal on wine. Because of this, we cannot offer refunds. If you can’t make it, please let us know more than 48 hours before the tour so that we can book you onto a different tour subject to availability. Or feel free to send a friend in your place.

Do you do vouchers?

Yes! A Manchester Wine Tour voucher makes a great gift for foodies or wine lovers. Click on the booking button above and choose ‘gift voucher’. Then bask in the glory of being the best friend/offspring/partner ever.

What about private tours?

If you want to book a private tour or single venue wine tasting designed to suit your tastes and requirements, get in touch.

When will I find out where my tour goes to?

We’ll send you an email with all the details of meeting point, wines, snacks and venues a few days before the tour. You will be able to avoid spoilers by not opening the attachment if you prefer it to be a surprise.
